GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
PRICING: All prices quoted are per person, and in US Dollars. Pricing includes airfare, and land arrangements as priced for each specific tour program. All pricing is subject to change without notice. Taxes and other travel fees are not included.
AIR TRANSPORTATION: The pricing as provided in the specified tour packages is based on round-trip international economy class travel from specific USA gateways to destinations as specified. The applicable airline taxes, airline surcharges, such as airport facility charges, September 11 security charges, and other applicable USA transportation charges, and foreign destination taxes and surcharges are NOT included in the package pricing.
AIRLINE FUEL SURCHARGES: Airfare includes airline related fuel surcharges in affect at time of printing. Fuel related surcharges are subject to change without notice and may affect your tour package price.
RESERVATIONS: All reservations should be made a minimum of 45 days prior to departure. Later bookings may be accepted provided such late booking is accompanied by full payment of the tour booked. Reservations may be made through your travel agent, or directly with TAM Vacations, at 1-866-6BRAZIL (1-866-627-2945) or visit us at www.tamvacations.com
DEPOSITS: A non-refundable deposit is required on your acceptance of our quotation.
Most Tour Packages: $100.00 non-refundable deposit.
Special Offers and Instant Purchase Packages: Full payment within 7 days of booking.
Services will ONLY be requested when your deposit is received. Your deposit will be refunded if we are unable to secure your program as requested. Upon receiving your deposit an invoice will be issued with the balance of payment information, and final payment must be received, except on “Instant Purchase Packages”, a minimum of 45 days before departure. Payments of deposit may be made by check, credit card, bank draft, wire transfer, or cash.
If your booking/reservation request is made less then 45 days before departure, payment may ONLY be made by credit card, wire transfer, or certified check. Payments made by wire transfer are subject to a $25.00 handling fee.
Most major credit cards are accepted for payment.
Events such as Carnival or New Year may require larger initial deposit or full payment at time of booking.
FINAL PAYMENT AND DOCUMENT ISSUE: Full/Final payment is due 45 days prior to departure, except on “Special Offers and Instant Purchase Packages” as full payment is due within 7 days of booking. Full/Final payment may only be made by check, credit card, wire transfer, or certified check. Payments made by wire transfer are subject to a $25.00 handling fee. In the event of outstanding balance at the required final payment date services to be provided are subject to cancellation.
Travel documents will be issued at a minimum of 21 days prior to departure, unless booking was made less then 45 days before departure or final payment was not received on time.
RETURNED CHECK FEE: There will be a fee of $30.00 charged on returned checks.
BOOKING CHANGES: In the event of booking change, after tour has been confirmed in writing by TAM Vacations, a service fee of $50.00 will be charged for processing of a new request, and tour participant will be liable for any additional change charges as applied by airlines, hotels, or other suppliers. Any change of destination will constitute a cancellation and will be subject to full cancellation fees. All changes requested will be made based on availability.
CHANGE OF TRAVEL DATE: Passengers may change their travel date prior to final payment being received for a fee of $50.00. After ticket (s) have been issued, depending on airfare used, fees applied vary from $100.00 per ticket (s), to full cost of ticket (s). All changes requested will be made based on availability.
CANCELLATIONS OR REFUNDS: Requests for tour cancellation must be received in writing from tour participant (s) during normal business hours. Verbal cancellations are NOT ACCEPTED. Most airline tickets are non-refundable. Terms and Conditions of airline cancellation policy will be provided at time of booking and invoicing. The following cancellation fees will apply to land portion of the tour package based on number of days notice provided to TAM Vacations before travel:

UNUSED SERVICES: There will be no refund for services that are not utilized. Should passengers fail to arrive for pre-booked services/products or voluntarily cancel, amend, or otherwise alter their arrangements, TAM Vacations will not be responsible for refunds. This is regardless of inferred or implied assurances on behalf of any of our industry or service providers.
PASSENGER INFORMATION: Passengers are responsible to ensure that names have been provided correctly spelled. Due to increased security measures, passenger names must exactly match the first and last name printed on their passports. Name changes including minor spelling corrections may require airline reservations to be cancelled and rebooked. Reservations are subject to availability at the time of rebooking. Once full payment is received, airline tickets will be issued at 21 days before departure unless full payment had not been received. Subsequent name corrections will be subject to an airline rebooking fee plus a $25 revision fee per change. TAM Vacations will not be held responsible for the denial of services by carrier(s) due to any name discrepancy. Name changes must be advised in writing
CHILDREN: All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Minimum age for travel on group tours is 6 years old. On purchase of independent tour package, not requiring escorting or group travel, there is no minimum age restriction
CHECK IN PROCEDURE: Failure to check-in at a minimum of three (3) hours prior to departure of international flight may result in denial of boarding, and no refund will be granted.
PASSENGERS WITH DISABILITIES: Participants of tours, who require assistance of any form, are required to notify TAM Vacations in writing at time of reservation (s), and must be accompanied by responsible person for entire tour program. Tour managers, guides, drivers, or other personnel providing services are not responsible for providing assistance service.
PUBLIC HOLIDAYS: On dates including, but not limited to religious holidays and national celebrations, some monuments, and other sites, may not be open to the general public. On these occasions tour itineraries may be altered.
AIRCRAFT FLIGHT CHANGES AND DELAYS: Airline (s) alternative equipment and routings are subject to change by Airline (s) or TAM Vacations and will not result in any refunds. Flight delays are unfortunate, but are an inherent to air travel and are completely outside the control or responsibility of TAM Vacations. Participant(s) may reserve the right to hold the airline responsible. In the event of a delay, the Airline (s), and not TAM Vacations, will determine the procedure to be followed and the amenities/ compensation if any, to be offered. Participant(s) are subject to the ticket terms and tariffs of the Airline (s), which when issued shall be the sole contract between the Airline (s) and Participant(s).
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: It is the passengers responsibility to posses a valid health certificate for travel, if necessary. Required inoculations, if needed, must be obtained and proper documentation of the inoculation must be carried when traveling.
HOTELS: Hotels are categorized as per evaluation by each country's tourist authority. Prices are based on two passengers sharing a twin / double-bedded room. All rooms are double or twin-bedded with private facilities, standard category. Passengers must specifically request and pay for an upgraded room category.
Special requests such as bed types, smoking preference and connecting rooms are subject to availability. Room selection in all cases, unless otherwise reserved, is strictly at the discretion of the hotel's management on a "run-of-the-house" basis. The number of single accommodations is limited on each departure; if available, it can be purchased at a supplement. Triple rooms consist of standard twin or double beds plus a sofa/folding bed or cot for third person. The number of persons accommodated is not indicative of the room size. Hotel service charges and taxes are included in the tour price. TAM Vacations reserves the right to substitute any hotel with another of similar category prior to departure.
MEALS: All tours include daily breakfast unless specified in travel itinerary; other meals included as specified in tour itinerary.
PASSPORT / VISA: Travelers will need a valid passport to travel, with a minimum of 6 months validity. Visas are currently required for US (American) citizens entering Brazil, and may be required for other countries in your travel itinerary. Other country passport holders must contact the consulates of the countries you are traveling to for exact visa requirements. Passengers are required to obtain and must posses valid travel documents at time of check-in for your departure. Please contact your destination country's nearest consulate for updated details on visa requirements. Costs of visas and border crossing fees are the responsibility of the traveler.
LUGGAGE: Adults and children (from age 2) are entitled to a free-baggage allowance. For flights to and from the USA, most airlines permit two pieces of checked luggage each weighing up to about 50lbs. However, airline (s) policies vary and may change at any time. Excess luggage will be subject to additional charges. Neither TAM Vacations nor its authorized representatives abroad will be held responsible for charges levied by the airline (s), or for loss or damage to luggage and personal belongings. Luggage insurance is strongly recommended.
RESPONSIBILITY AND / LIABILITY: TAM Vacations and its authorized representatives act only as agents for the clients in all matters pertaining to travel by air or surface. They shall not be or become liable for any loss, injury or damage or delay to person, property or otherwise in connection with any accommodations, transportation or other services referred to on our website or in our printed material, resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, dangers at sea, fire, machinery or equipment breakdown, sickness, epidemics, quarantine, medical or customs regulations, pilferage, labor disputes, strikes, riots, thefts, government restraints, hostilities, civil disturbances, acts of terrorism of any kind, wars whether declared or not, losses or delays or additional expenses resulting from insufficient or improperly issued passports and / or visas and other documents, or from any other causes beyond our control; neither TAM Vacations nor its affiliates or representatives shall become liable or responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained or occurred by the tour participant as a result of any of the foregoing causes. The tickets, coupons, tariffs, rules or contracts currently in use by any carrier, hotel, restaurant or other contractor rendering services shall constitute the sole contract between such contractor and the tour participant. No carrier shall be responsible for any act, omission or event during the time passengers are not on aboard its own conveyance. The right is reserved to cancel or change itineraries or substitute services without notice and to decline, accept, or retain any participant as a member of these tours at any time. The right is reserved until the time of departure to change the rates and fares referred to on our website, or within our printed material, without prior notification due to changes in current tariffs, fluctuation of exchange rates or fuel surcharges
INSURANCE: Medical and Baggage insurance, as well as trip interruption insurance, is available and highly recommended. Insurance information will be provided as requested.
DISPUTE RESOLUTION: The sole and exclusive method of resolving any dispute, which might arise, if at all, shall be litigated before a court located in the County of Dade, in the state of Florida, USA, to the exclusion of the courts of any other county or state.
